friday's fringe 24 ~ winged zebras





were you really expecting zebras with wings?

well, you got it!  sort of...


this is florida's 'state butterfly', the Zebra Longwing/Heliconius charithonia
in our front yard.

  6. No, not really, ;) but I knew I'd like whatever you posted! Have a fabulous Friday and an extra special weekend ahead...and look out for any flying witch that is using her cell phone! She may not see where she's going ! Did you see that picture that seems to be going viral on FB? One of my blogger friends posted it too! It's very cool, her cell phone is flying and her broom...it's quite funny!

  9. Holy Amazing Cow those are beautiful! And your photos make them even more magical. Well done. Nothing like that here.

    In fact we hardly ever even see common butterflies now that there's been so much spraying for mosquitoes that might carry West Nile virus. Of course that's just a coincidence. We all know that spray only kills mosquitoes--not bees, not butterflies, not ......
