there have been a few 'repeat' questions in 'comments' left following my posts. so i'll quickly answer them here in the hopes that these people will check back...or maybe these same questions have crossed other people's minds after reading through my posts. "Why do you like bones?" well, for the same reason i like rocks, stones, driftwood, fossils, feathers...to me, they represent the 'mysterious' side of nature. they are a part of something that was...they have a secret story to tell.
"What type of camera do you use?" it's a Canon Power Shot SX120. i bought this camera about two months ago...after falling in the water with my old (kodak) camera strapped to my hip! i'm not complaining that i jammed my knee...pulled a few muscles...had to wear a knee brace for a week...because this Canon is the best digital camera i've ever owned. for the price (under $200.) i highly recommend it!
...on to other things...
the day before yesterday...late afternoon...walking past the sliding glass door that opens to the back yard...movement caught my eye. there was a red shouldered hawk on the ground in the middle of the yard. but NOT JUST A HAWK...there was also a grey fox...all the way back toward the edge of the tree line. i grabbed my camera and hoped neither would leave. i didn't want to open the door and scare him away, so these pictures were taken through the glass.
the fox...sniffing around...not seeming to care about the hawk...
the fox...still trying to decide what to do. (hmmm, should i stay or should i go...)
the hawk, standing his ground, made the final decision...since, today, he was there first...this was his turf...
Nature is my medicine. ~Sara Moss-Wolfe
