love...is in the air - - - spring has sprung.

just the other day,
i opened the front door...stepped onto the porch, camera in hand...
i spotted this anole proudly displaying his dewlap.

aaaaah. love. he spotted a female.
they ran towards each other...
for an afternoon quickie. very quick.

today is the (official) first day of spring. (here in the U.S. anyway)
it may not FEEL like spring in some places...
but here, in north florida, the temp has reached into the low 80's.

some flowers are blooming...and a few butterflies are out and about!
spring has sprung.

a bromeliad bloom

spicebush swallowtail on azalea bush

mini daffodils blooming

a red-spotted purple

a cinnamon fern getting ready to unfurl

dragonfly

flatwoods plum

that's it for now.  catch ya' later.

(hmmm. for some reason when i hit 'publish', this post didn't show in feed.
so i reverted it to draft.  will try to publish again. if it still doesn't make it
into the feed...hopefully it will be found...and not lost in space!)  :)

  3. Thank the cyber gods , your post has not been lost, Such beauty! The anoles are just adorable!! You do live in a paradise and your camera is very talented!!! Thank you for this bit of loveliness, great way to wake up. Spring is a weirdness up here, early flowers but no warmth and the bees are confused.

    1. we had some of that weirdness with the weather too...warm temps, flowers started blooming...then plummet back to freezing or below...all the flowers that THOUGHT it was spring...thought wrong. :( they wilted...died.
confused bees...ha. i hate when that happens.
i THINK we are done with the cold. (damnit)
      have a good weekend.

  4. just loveliness! cute little saucy fellow in the first shot. :)

if you're referring to blogger's blog roll, that happens to my posts at least once or twice a week. sometimes it doesn't recognize them for hours. but at least feed readers like feedly and bloglovin seem to get the feed within a reasonable time. i have to go in and edit and republish - sometimes a dozen times - before blogger wakes up!

    1. thanks theresa...it was so frustrating. it never occurred to me that my post might show up in the blog roll...eventually. it usually shows up right away. so after returning it to draft & then pub again, over & over...i just left it alone & like you said, about an hour later...POOF, there it was!
thanks for telling me that you go through this too...makes me feel so not alone! :)

  7. Dang! It is summer already in Southwest Florida and we don't ever have any of those Spring daffodils. I'm envious. We do have those displaying anoles , but I've never been able to get a good picture.

    Happy Spring!!!!

  14. Wow! Spring has sprung down your way! Beautiful!!
Has some of that water receded?
80s is summer weather up here...but we were briefly in the 70s last weekend. Right now--18 degrees. Crazy! Enjoy your warm weather and I hope it doesn't turn into a sweltering summer.
BTW, been many decades since I have seen mating anoles--LOL! ;)

  15. I was about to say, "It's great to see you blogging again," but it seems my feed has been faulty. I've been getting from your blog since who knows how long... so weird. I saw you commented on someone else's post and follow... if not, I would still be waiting.

Anyhoo, I will have to enjoy my spring (summer, lol) precariously through you. We got 5 inches of snow yesterday. I'm not amused.
