while squatting to get this shot of the Banana spider (Golden silk orb-weaver)...
i realized how it looked pretty cool with that monstrous Orb
descending on our roof!
ARACHNID ATTACK!
Spider Invasion!
and for those of you who get a little creeped out by spiders...
here's a view of the morning crescent moon from the backyard.

Lovin' that moon shot.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura...Spiders and I don't mix eeeks!!; )
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice Moon shot though ...I looked for the meteor showers last night
but my eyes wouldn't stay open : )!!

What a handsome spider- I love spiders, from a distance. They are so smart and cool and clever! lovely shot and of course getting mooned is always a pleasure!
ReplyDeleteOh it does look like a Giant Spider attack! How cool! (not that I'd want a Giant Spider to attack your house or anything)
ReplyDeleteLOVE that moon too :)
Wow, what a beautiful spider! I like spiders and all kind of insects.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
Greetings from Holland,
Willy
That is one pretty impressive spider you caught there. I love all Reptiles arachnids. Basically anything cold blooded.
ReplyDeletei like that first shot! and the 2nd, too. :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent orbology, Laura!
ReplyDelete~
Beautiful capture:)
ReplyDeleteI did look through your eyes, and, imagined that monstrous orb descending on your roof...very cool-and creepy! If we look close enough at photos, we can sometimes see a hidden story in them. And, really great detail brought out in the spider's body, aagghh!
ReplyDeleteI love your moon shot, a perfect crescent. Great photography Laura! Hope you're doing well. Dragging my feet on holiday stuff...I guess I just like the stress, lol! See you soon!♥
Spiders are amazing critters, but that one was a little to in-your-face for me. I like your very cool photos but I'd have to shoot a spider that size about as far away as I would a moon shot.
ReplyDeleteLaura, awesome spider shot. And I love your moon capture. Another wonderful post, have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THAT CRESCENT MOON . . . The spider, not as much . . . smiling?
ReplyDeleteWOW - not knowng whether to run away or stand in awe!
ReplyDeleteŁadnie wyszedł pająk na zdjęciu. Ja się ich nie boję, ale pajęczyn nie znoszę :)
ReplyDeleteSpider came out nicely in the picture. I'm not afraid of them, but I hate cobwebs :)
I love your "ARACHNID" and the moon, they live with you, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am not creeped out by spiders at all and I love this portrait. But I love the moon shot too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of the spider.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Wish you a great week.

ReplyDeletewonderful images as well
kind of opposite... ooooh then ahhhhh
Oh Laura I love the spider and the image of you trying to capture the perfect shot which you did. The moon is exquisite. B
ReplyDeleteThank God you showed the moon shot, too! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be miraculous--depending on who's mind you switched with, of course. ;)
Hope you had a great weekend. Your late reader here in Fargo. :)
Although it is yet another great pic of a spider, you KNOW I'm moving on to the shot of the moon...awesome...safe...not at all creepy!!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteNICE capture of the spider.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind spiders...but that one does look rather large. I'm kind of glad it is desending on your house, not mine. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG that is one huge spider - have to say I'm not a big fan of spiders and I really wouldn't like to meet him, lol.
ReplyDeleteYour slice of the moon is amazing. :)
THe first time I saw Banana spiders, I was amazed. Tried and tried to get good shots, but just couldn't quite get a good one. Thanks for your great photos--of spiders and everything else.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, great spider shot - I'm always fascinated by them and you get some good'uns! Also love your moon shots, I love them and always forget to just go outside and do some myself ... thanks for the reminder :D)
ReplyDeleteAll the very best for a wonderful Christmas to you and yours. Cheerio and I'll catch up next year :D) xx
They are both beauties and magical in their own ways. I love the colors of the spider, and she does look cool "invading" your home. Any giant kitties to defend the house?
ReplyDeleteOh my he is quite the dandy cute little spidey isn't he! But your cresent moon...so beautiful! Just what I needed to see- it's really dark in our sky this evening, and currently a gentle falling of glistening white snow!
ReplyDeleteAAAAHHHH! TAke a deep breath, visit your blog, and I'm seeing the world again. It's been a busy month. Good to see you and your world, which is extraordinary, spiders and all.
ReplyDeleteOh my GOSH! that think looks gigantic! How big is it?
